Amazing grace and burning justice! That’s what this story held. One reaching for what’s right, the other showing up when nothing else could. And both carried by the steady hand of the one true God who sees, knows, and redeems.

Burning Justice tore me up in all the right ways. It didn’t rush the healing or force the hope. It let the fight play out honestly in Kane’s surrender, in Maria’s awakening, in the deep reminder that we can’t fix what only God can restore. The danger was real. So was the grace.

I’ll never forget Kane trying to let go. Not just of control, but of fear. Trusting God with Maria. There was no backup plan. And Maria, finally beginning to pray… she opened her mouth and prayed. Not because she had the right words, but because she knew she needed God. There was no performance in her prayer, only hunger. And I felt it like a holy ache.

“Give my fears and dreams to God,” Raine told her. It wasn’t new to me, but the Holy Spirit used it like it was.

And when those two words came: But God. I felt the weight of them deep in my spirit. Everything else faded. I worshiped through it. “But God, who called me here below, will be forever mine.” That wasn’t just a lyric tucked into a scene. That is truth always steadying my soul. My Savior. My rescue. My forever.

By the time I turned the last page, I wasn’t just moved — I was worshiping. This story pointed my heart straight to Jesus. It didn’t offer shallow resolution. It offered a testimony. Grace didn’t step aside. It fought. Justice didn’t falter. It stood. And through it all, Christ was lifted high. And while this story is fiction, the God it pointed to is not. I closed the book thinking about my own life, my own surrender, my own need for grace that fights and justice that heals. My relationship with Him is real, and this book simply stirred a deeper gratitude for what He’s already done in me and for me. That’s what stays with me. That’s why I read.
