Ainsley having to trust God over what she felt gave this Love Inspired story so much weight for me.

That is not always an easy choice when fear, history, hurt, and another person are all tangled up together.

I enjoyed the suspense and the second-chance element, but the faith thread is what gave this story real weight for me. Ainsley is not only trying to figure out who she can trust. She is learning that trusting God sometimes means refusing to let her own heart have the final word.

Ephesians 3:20–21 fits this story so well. I appreciated watching that truth move beyond being a verse on the page and into the places where Ainsley cannot see what comes next. She has to decide whether she will keep trying to control the outcome or trust God with what she cannot yet understand.

That is the kind of faith thread I want in Christian fiction. It is not only there to comfort the character. It challenges her. It asks her to surrender something.

The suspense kept the story moving, the past gave the relationships more weight, and the second-chance romance worked for me because there was more at stake than whether two people would simply find their way back to each other.

What I kept thinking about was how loud our own hearts can be when fear gets involved. Feelings can seem convincing. Circumstances can make trust feel risky. God is still trustworthy.

I loved this story. I loved seeing Scripture lived out and watching the characters turn to God’s Word. Susan L. Tuttle’s writing gave this story amazing strength and made it quite memorable.

I received a digital ARC from the publisher via NetGalley. I am not required to write a positive review nor paid to do so. This is my honest and unbiased review. My thoughts and opinions expressed in this book review are my own.
