4 Stars!
The truth in this story has been buried for years, and once it begins coming to light, the danger rises right along with it.
Elizabeth Goddard kept the suspense moving steadily throughout When the Silence Breaks. The questions surrounding the past, what had really happened, and who could be trusted gave the story plenty to keep me listening.
I also appreciated Sarah’s spiritual thread. She recognizes how far she has drifted from God, remembers the Scripture she was taught growing up, and turns back to Him in prayer. Those moments gave the Christian content genuine substance, even though the faith element was lighter than I personally prefer.
I appreciated the characters deciding to trust God’s timing and believe that what needs to be revealed will be revealed when the time is right.
Natalia Payne narrates the audiobook, and I found the audio format easy to follow as the tension and mystery developed.
This was a solid romantic suspense with buried secrets, danger, truth coming to light, and a meaningful reminder that God is still present even after we have wandered.
I received a digital ARC from the publishers via NetGalley. I am not required to write a positive review nor paid to do so. This is my honest and unbiased review. My thoughts and opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the writing and the story’s content, ensuring transparency and reliability.
