4 Stars!

The deeper Julia got into this ten-year-old disappearance, the more I felt how much had been left unanswered. I loved that she kept looking even when the truth became harder to find and the danger got closer. There was real courage in that!

The true-crime part of this story really worked for me. I wanted to know what happened, and I liked the way each answer seemed to bring up another question.

One line really made me stop and think: “As all of us navigate our way through life, we leave a bigger footprint than we realize and impact people in ways we might not have noticed.”

I loved that.

It made me think about how much one person can affect other people without ever knowing it. Even after someone is gone, there are memories, unanswered questions, and people whose lives were changed because that person was part of them.

That gave Julia’s search even more meaning for me. She wanted the truth, and she kept going until she could understand what had really happened. What an inspiration!

I really liked Max. He is protective, observant, and wise about when to step in and when to simply be there. I loved that his faith showed up in those quieter moments too. When Julia closes her eyes and he thinks she may be praying, Max takes a moment to pray as well while still keeping watch around them.

That little scene told me so much about him. He loves the Lord, he pays attention to Julia, and even while he is protecting her, he is still turning to God too.

This story made me think about how far our lives reach into the lives of other people, sometimes in ways we never get to see.

I received a digital ARC from the publisher via NetGalley. I am not required to write a positive review nor paid to do so. This is my honest and unbiased review. My thoughts and opinions expressed in this book review are my own.
