5 Stars!
I kept feeling the strain of this story in my chest.
Clara’s path is hemmed in by pressure, expectation, fear, and the kind of sorrow that makes every next step feel costly. Daniel carries such a steady, tender strength, and the way he keeps turning Clara’s eyes back toward Jesus gave this story something deeply beautiful to hold onto.
‘I’m going to trust God to bring us through in joyful victory over our sorrows.’ That line reached straight into my heart. It made me stop and consider how quickly weariness can dim hope, how easily pain can narrow the heart, how desperately I need Scripture to steady me when life feels tight and tangled.
This book gave me fresh reminders that hardship cuts deep, drains strength, presses heavily against the heart, and lingers far longer than we want it to. His promises do not weaken because the road feels painfully drawn out and full of tender, unanswered ache.
There is a rich, faith-filled tenderness in these pages that made me want to hold my own burdens with more surrender. I finished this story more willing to place unanswered things into the hands of the Lord and leave them there.
That gift alone made this story worth reading … and re-reading.
I received a paperback copy of this book from the publisher and JustRead Publicity Tours, LLC and also listened to it on audio and read it again via Kindle Unlimited.
