I loved Taken Without a Trace.

 

Hope Welborn pulled me straight into the danger, and I stayed there. Cash and Maya have history, hurt, unanswered questions, and very real reasons to guard their hearts. Add a missing sister, a cold case, an attack, and Cash’s fractured memory, and I was completely invested.

 

The faith is what made this one special for me.

 

Cash has become a Christian since Maya last knew him, and she can see that he is different. I loved watching that difference show up naturally. He cries out to God when he is in danger. He reads his Bible. His past is still part of his story, but he is beginning to understand who he is because he belongs to Christ.

 

Maya’s faith is harder. She believes in God, but hurt has complicated that relationship. She knows she has been forgiven. She knows she is called to forgive. Actually releasing what happened to her is another matter entirely. That felt real.

 

Forgiveness carries weight here. So does trust. Hope lets both characters wrestle with wounds that cannot simply be brushed aside. God’s grace, redemption, and the truth that He can change a life are part of that struggle.

 

Isaiah 43:1 appears in the story: “Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.”

That verse fits these characters beautifully.

 

Hope Welborn has described her suspense as “saturated with faith,” and Taken Without a Trace absolutely was. I got the danger, mystery, romance, and page-turning suspense I wanted, along with the Christian foundation I am always hoping to find.

 

I loved this story, especially the way faith mattered in the lives of these characters and in the choices they had to make.
