5 Stars!
Jaz calling Kenzie “Jesus girl” may be one of my favorite character moments I have read in a long time.
That name carried humor, tenderness, curiosity, and something deeper. Kenzie’s faith was visible, tangible, and admired. Her trust in God was woven into the way she moved through fear, danger, pressure, and impossible choices. I loved that so much.
Anchoring You gave me everything I want in romantic suspense: danger that keeps tightening, a heroine with grit, a hero carrying pain beneath his charm, banter that sparkles, chemistry that feels alive, and a plot that moves across Caribbean waters with cartel danger pressing from every side. Kenzie and Jasper are both unforgettable to me. She is strong without being cold. He is wounded without losing the part of him that still longs for redemption.
The faith content made this story shine. “Jesus had sacrificed Himself to save Jasper.” That truth made Jasper’s journey feel rooted in something far deeper than survival or second chances. Kenzie’s words about grace being offered even when someone feels unlovable carried the kind of Gospel tenderness I long for in fiction. This is the kind of Christian romantic suspense that remembers danger can move the plot, while grace moves the soul.
Robin Patchen’s writing completely won me over. The talent, the pacing, the heart, the humor, the faith, the romance, the emotional pull; all of it worked for me.
I loved this book. I want the whole backlist now.
