I loved the depth of emotions it evoked … and the sense of being on the scene during a very intense and impactful moment in history
Some stories transport me into another time and place so completely that I forget I'm reading. Her Redcoat was one of those stories.
Pegg Thomas drew me into the uncertainty, danger, and divided loyalties of the Revolutionary era with such vivid historical detail that I felt immersed in the story from beginning to end. The emotional depth especially stood out to me. I found myself deeply invested in the characters as they navigated difficult circumstances and life-changing decisions.
One of my favorite moments came through these beautiful words: "My God, He is bigger than this difference, n'est-ce pas? He brought you here, of this I am certain. He brought you when my daughter needed a husband, someone to take her away, someone to keep her safe. The someone He sent was you."
That quiet confidence in God's sovereign care added another layer of beauty to an already compelling story.
