5 Stars!

These first three volumes were lovely, fun, clever, and clearly Christian, with just the right mix of Regency atmosphere, danger, secrets, and spiritual depth. I greatly enjoyed the spy thread, the slow unfolding of the characters, and the way clearly Christian faith was given room to shape the story, the characters, and my own reader’s heart.

One of the strongest faith moments came through Aunt Laura’s counsel to Phoebe: “Trust in God to save you. The Twenty-Second Psalm is also about suffering, but it is quoted as referring to the suffering of Jesus Christ. And in the midst of Christ’s sufferings, God had a grander plan that involved saving the entire world … I had to struggle to trust that God had a grander plan in mind. And I am telling you to try to do the same. He will do a marvelous thing if we trust Him and watch.”

That kind of faith content is why I appreciated these books. Phoebe is not simply learning courage for adventure’s sake. She is being pressed toward repentance, dependence, and trust. “In her heart, she prayed, Father, please forgive me.”

I also loved this reminder: “…God can help you … It involves more than a simple decision, but if you commit … God will help you as He helped Davis in the psalm.”

And this tender encouragement felt beautifully fitting for Phoebe: “Sometimes it’s the struggle through these feelings that makes us shine more brilliantly … at the end of this, I know you will sparkle.”

These volumes were charming, faith-filled, enjoyable, and they left me so grateful for stories where secrets, struggles, courage, and trust in God are clear and rewarding.

I received the digital versions of these books from the author via Celebrate Lit Publicity Tour. I am not required to write a positive review in any way or for any reason. My honest and unbiased opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the writing style, the pacing, and the stories’ content, ensuring transparency and reliability.
