Even with danger closing in around Blooming Grove, I kept looking forward to their quieter moments. Their reading lessons became some of my favorite moments because they held so much more than words on a page. With every lesson, Rabb began confronting the shame that had convinced him his weakness made him less worthy and less useful.

I cared deeply about what God was doing in these hearts. Rabb and Sallie pray, wrestle with grace and forgiveness, and slowly begin to believe that their wounds do not get to define what God can still do with their lives.

Every time those tiny seeds of hope appeared, they meant a little more to me.

I finished Seeds of Hope wanting to trust God more fully with the places in my own life that can feel too damaged or too late for Him to use.
