Sometimes the danger comes for what you hold dearest… and sometimes the only thing stronger than fear is love that won’t let go. This story unfolds in the echo of a father’s cry, a mother’s memory, and a friendship that runs deeper than duty. A child missing. A beagle tracking. And two people forced to trust what they cannot see — both in the dark and in each other.
The title says it best: Double Protection Duty. This story is about the doubling weight of fear and love, friendship and loss, sacrifice and surrender. When one of Kenyon’s twin boys is taken, the story becomes a relentless chase… but beneath the danger is a deeper pull: the choice to trust God with what you cannot hold.
And that’s what made this audiobook unforgettable. Raina and Kenyon are people whose faith is forged in fire. Their bond unfolds in the background of bullets and betrayal… and yet, the heart of it all is quiet surrender. Not just once, but daily. Doubled. Repeated. Relentless.
The narration adds urgency and tenderness in all the right places… but it’s the layered faith that will stay with me most. This is more than suspense… it’s a story of being kept by God, by grace, by promises that don’t break even when everything else does.
Perfect for listeners who believe faith isn’t a backdrop… it’s the protection, the anchor, and the only way through.
I received a digital audio ARC from the publisher via NetGalley. I am not required to write a positive review nor paid to do so. This is my honest and unbiased review. My thoughts and opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the great writing, engaging narration, and the story’s wonderful content, ensuring transparency and reliability.
Love this review! Really inspiring to read, I appreciate how you wove the story's themes into the review--sounds like some worthwhile reading (or in this case listening!) Reminds me of how I felt listening to The Voyage of the Sandpiper audio book--it is the only audio book I have listened to, and that style of "reading" really does bring the faith "not as a backdrop" to life!!!
