“Jesus took care of us today. He’s our friend, and He’s always with us.”

That little sentence says so much about why Ambushed in Yosemite worked for me.

There is plenty of danger here. A body. A cold case. A manhunt. Yosemite itself almost feels alive around the story. I was completely pulled in.

Skylar and Bode were so easy for me to root for, and I loved Harper. She brought such sweetness into a story with so much tension around it. The family pieces mattered to me just as much as the suspense.

The Christian faith mattered even more. Jesus is named. People pray. They trust God. Their faith is part of how they face what is happening and keep going when things are frightening and uncertain.

I enjoy suspense, romance, danger, mystery, all of it. But for a book to earn five stars from me, I need the Christian faith to really be there. It was here.

I finished this one thinking I want to read everything Kellie VanHorn writes.

Incredibly good.

I received an ebook ARC of this book from Love Inspired Suspense via NetGalley. My review reflects my honest, heartfelt opinion.
